The RMB1 billion Plaza, located in the center of Hengqin, covers a total land area of 23,000 square meters and a gross floor area of 80,000 square meters, is planned as a regional landmark international business center, integrating wholesale and retail, catering and shopping, as well as commercial office buildings and hotels. Construction began in March 2016 and it is planned to open in 2020.

Guangdong-Macau Cooperation Industrial Park is a significant carrier of the Framework Agreement on Cooperation Between Guangdong and Macau. Being one of the first Macau SAR recommended entrants into Guangdong-Macau Cooperation Industrial Park in Hengqin New Area, this project supports its participation in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative. The business and office space will specifically cater to Latin American specialty sales exhibitions, tourism resources promotion, cultural performances and Sino-Latin American commercial, tourist and cultural negotiations in order to promote the sharing of multilateral resources between Latin American countries and enterprises.
